    <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;a href="https://community.squareup.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/575931"&gt;@Joseph_Ryan&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I know on the Square Stands with an Ipad and Scanner if you scan an Item without it in the Square System it will ask you if you want to add the item or update an item.&amp;nbsp; Sometimes doing it this way enters the scanned barcode in as either a GTIN or as the SKU.&amp;nbsp; The only difference is the number and types of characters that can be used.&amp;nbsp; GTIN is only 11 or 12 numbers only where as a SKU can be up to 40 characters long with Square and can be both numbers and letters, no special characters.&amp;nbsp; If you have a csv file and need it in Square you can copy the SKU or GTIN from your sheet into a Square template you can download from your Item list in the Dashboard.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The only information the Barcode Scanner pulls from the Barcode is the Barcode.&amp;nbsp; &amp;nbsp;Now when you have an item in Square that you entered the Item name, Sales Price, etc this information can be pulled by the Scanner to perform a sale or Item look up.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>RJ place the bar code information in the SKU box to the right. I recommend to tap on the line the scan the actual bar code and it will appear in the box. Make sure you hit have and add your price. Hope that helps buddy</description>
