adding taxes to the sales item

Sales tax in FL is 7% , so for instance, on $39 item it adds $2.55, instead of $2.73 and on $34 it adds $2.22, but 7% is $2.38. Why is that? Also, it doesn't add it to my total. So I started just processing custom ammount and now it adds sales tax, even for services, which I shouldn't be charged taxes for. I pay that every quoter. I am confused.

The first thing I can think of is that you may have other discounts or taxes applied that Register is using instead. Can you check to make sure you don't have other taxes enabled (http://squ.re/1UH0iKp)?

As far as tax vs. non-tax, you can also use tax rules to make sure all of your orders are taxed correctly -- like your services.
