thread Opening up a 2nd location for my restaurant. Should I open a separate Square account? in Archived Discussions (Read Only)

We're opening up our 2nd location for our restaurant and I was wondering if it's better to open a separate Square account rather than creating a "new location" under our current Square account? We plan to sell more items at this location and I think payroll will be paid through a new bank account that we're going to be creating, as i'd like to keep the sales records & booking separate between the 2 stores, that way it's easier to keep track of.

In this case, is it better to open a new Square account for our 2nd location?

I can't see any reason to set up a new account.

With the locations settings you can pay into a different bank for each location, manage items & prices differently for each location, assign staff to a single location (or both if you have any that will go between the two).

I guess the only reason to separate is if you want anything like gift cards or online coupons not to work at the other locations (or this is a reason to keep under one account if you want them to work for both).

* all that said, I've got one location that moves about so use the locations feature a little differently. Someone might come along & tell me how wrong I am!
