How to get Google HTML verification code from Google?

Hello,

I just verified by website with Google from my Google Search Console.

But I cannot find the HTML tag I need to enter in Square Online under Settings>Tracking Tools?

Do I need to enter something in Sitemaps in Google Search Console? I found instructions in Square Support instructing to enter sitemap.xml but when I enter I get "enter a valid path to a sitemap in your site."

I called Square Tech Support & they're saying I don't need to enter anything in "enter sitemap" field in Google Search Console. Meantime, I cannot find the HTML tag on Google Search console.

I'm not technically savvy and so confused.

Please help. Thank you so much.

Hi @Kyikyi

THere are a few different ways you can verify your site with Google. Here are some alternative methods as well.

If you navigate to search.google.com and then settings>ownership verification it should give you a few different options to choose from. From there you can copy the tag they they provide and paste it the spot for Square.

I don't use Square Online, so I'm not 100% sure of the verification process with that and google.

As for the sitemaps, what you will do is type your website address into a new url followed by /sitemap.xml

This will (should) bring up your different sitemaps. You can then list those into google search console, one by one.
