Is there any way to turn off the hardware connection beeps?

Hello,

I just received my Square POS and got it set up. But the hardware connections (USB Receipt Printer, Barcode Scanner, & USB Cash Register) beep everytime I open the Square iOS app. I turned off the iPad lockscreen which helps stop the beeps fom happening every single time the screen locked. I checked in Settings and couldn't find anything relating to sounds.

The beeping sounds are really going to get on my nerves every single time I open the Square app if there's no way to turn them off.

Hey @Machiventa, thanks for surfacing. Shucks, sorry to hear this is causing a disruption.

I just double-checked on this, and we're not able to control hardware chimes from the Square Register app itself.

I wish I could offer another work-around, but it sounds like you've already covered everything that you can at this point. Turning off the iPad lock screen (or extending the amount of time) will help reduce the beeps. In addition, keeping the Register app open will help.

Thanks for the reply Tom. I think the beep I'm hearing is the barcode scanner. It's too bad there's no way to turn the beep off, and hope there's a way a software update can address that.

Thanks for your understanding. Yes, it is the barcode scanner. It doesn't sound like this would be something we can change in the near future, but definitely keep in touch for updates!

I’m definitely in agreement it’s way to load when the scanner kicks in when loading the POS screen. Please somehow add a volume button as a beauty salon it’s startling to clients

Hi Tom. I recently purchased the barcode scanner, and was looking for a way to turn off the beeping. I noticed your post was from 2016, so I was wondering if you found a way to turn it off? Thank you.
