Hi Simcros, no, there is no cost to download a Square app from the app store.

Hello,

I am trying to download the app, but it's asking me for credit card info. I am OK with paying a small fee for the app, but it's not showing the actual cost which I would like to know before entering my credit card info. Do you know why this would be happening if you say it's free? Thanks

You may be trying to download something designed to look like Square Register that actually isn't. The real app is indeed free. Start from here to ensure you're getting the right thing. https://squareup.com/app

@DesignsbyJody - I believe that Apple may require you to have a credit card on file with your account before they let you download apps. We certainly won't charge you to download ours. 🙂
