Square for Restaurant - How to add items to 2 categories

Hi All,

I'm looking how to add an item to 2 separate categories.

Background:

Our menu has an A la Carte section. Many of the A la Carte items double as Appetizers. They can be ordered as main dishes or as appetizers.

I have created 2 separate categories, A la Carte and Appetizers for the Square for Restaurants POS.

Appetizers is set as a straight fire category, while A la Carte is not.

Problem:

Short of recreating every appetizer item again within the POS and assigning them in to appetizers category, which causes reporting discrepancies as the items report only reports items without category association...

Is there a way to assign items in to 2 categories so that if that item is selected through a straight fire category its expedited that way and if through a different category its handled normally.

Or......is there a better way of doing this which I'm oblivious to 🙂
