Employee Management is very troublesome for us. I need to be able to export sales reports by emplyee showing sales by payment type. This is essential as I split sales with emplyees. This worked perfectly with Mobile Staff and doesn't work at all with Emplyee Management. Ideally I would also like the emplyee names back on the emailed receipts and the transaction record.

Happy to help share your options with this. 😀

To get going, if you take a look at the Employees Sales report, you'll get an overall view of sales by employee. Since seeing sales by payment type is important for you, we can head to the advanced options so we can chose "Display by" then "Payment Method." Here's a screenshot:

From this view, your sales are sorted by payment type (Card, Cash...etc). You can expand each section to see which employees took the sales. While you can't export these sheet (I wish you could!), it should help you locate the numbers you're looking for.

Alternately, if you export the spreadsheet from the Transactions tab (top right), you'll get a great deal of data about each transaction. If you wrangle it using your spreadsheet software, you can extract the same information.

As for brining back employee name on receipts, I've definitely heard this request. It sounds like it was useful for a number of sellers. I'll be sure to pass along the feedback!

While I apprcieate the detailed response, this does not solve the issue. I need a report that shows emplyee sales by payment type. This was available for years with Mobile Staff Sales and I relied upon it for my business. If I do as you say and download the report from the Transactions tab I get every transaction from the entire week. Thank you for the response but it does not accomplish what I need.

@whmckee - Appreciate the follow up. When you say you need a report that shows sales by payment method, do you not mean Cash, Card...etc? The report I pointed out breaks down the employee sales by these different tender types

The report will generate but will not export. So the data must be manually entered. This is extremely time consuming and leaves a lot of room for error with 30+ employees a week.

I would like to run individual employee reports so that I may complete payroll myself. I have not signed up for payroll through Square, and just realized that is a separate option. I just signed up for square retail and was under the impression that the reports I needed would be provided and included in the $60 monthly fee. If this isn't so I will have to deactivate my square account

Hi!! Thanks for reaching out and I'm really sorry to hear that the employee management feature has felt frustrating. With the Square for Retail subscription, you should be able to view your employee sales reports as well, so I've merged your post with an existing thread that has some instructions on how to find this. You will need to view this report on your Square Dashboard under Team Sales where it will break down each individual employee's sales and tips for that date range! Please see my screenshot below:

All of my team members are "untracked"... and all transactions are being clumped into one team member I guess. Trying now to figure out how to track individual team members

not quite the answer for me.

i want to view the transactions of each team members.

sort of list of under each team member, show each transaction

for me easier to track each billing. (im running a delivery service)

@hanami It sounds like you're looking for a feature that is included in our Team Management Plus. You can assign a passcode to each employee, and then view an Activity Report that you can filter by which employee ran which transactions.
