Can contactless readers be used for multiple Square accounts?

I manage two very different Square Marketplaces whose transactions go to different bank accounts. I got a contactless reader for one account and want to know if I can use it for both, rather than getting a second reader. And if so, anything I need to know in switching from one account to the other? Thanks.

Yep, all of our readers are universal so they're not associated with any account in particular. When your reader is paired with your device, it's the login information in the app that determines where the payment is sent.

Want to know if I have more than one sales person can I use more than one square to link into my one businewss account?

@reinhardreinhar Yes your sales people can use multiple Square readers to take payments on your behalf. As long as everyone signs into the app using the same email and password the payments accepted will be linked to your business.

Keep in mind if you share your log in information with someone that means they will have full access to your account. If you have a lot of people taking payments for you, I recommend using our Mobile Staff feature, which allows someone to accept payments on your behalf without giving them full access to your account.

Using chip reader on 2 accounts

I was told we could use the same chip read on 2 accounts with 2 devices as long as we didn't both have open at the same time. But when we try we have to go through the setup process every time. Also it tells us to hit the power button to connect. It seems the only way to do that is to take it out of the dock each time. Any suggestions?

Sorry for the delay! Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

The reader can only be paired with one device at a time. However, you can toggle between accounts. For example, I can spend one hour using the reader with my device logged into one Square account. The next hour I can log into a different Square account and pair the reader to the app account.
