How do I cancel a credit card payment with a pending deposit?

How do I refund a credit card payment with a pending deposit without it coming out of my bank account? I assume it wouldn't but have not issued refund for the fear of it coming out of my account even though it hasn't been deposited into my account.

When you issue a refund with Square, we’ll first look to your Square balance to cover the amount of the refund. So if the payment is still pending in your Square balance, we would not debit your bank.

Only if there aren’t enough funds within your Square balance to cover your refund, will Square will debit the remaining funds from your linked bank account.

why i send a refund but on my side says refund pending and the customer dont get the refund yet???

It can take a few days for the refund to post to the customer's account.
