Promo code/ discount code question

I followed the directions found on the help page and have a promo code activated. But when I try to use it, testing the feature, it shows it as not working. It displays the code I entered (which is the correct code) in red. Anyone else having trouble with promo codes not working?

I have got the same problem. Very frustrating as I want to start the promo this weekend.

There are a few reasons that your promo codes may not be working, I'd be happy to help explain.

If you have more that one location on your Square Account, you'll need to create the promo in your location specific Dashboard to use the code in your Online Store.
You cannot create a promo code that takes 100% off of your sale, as you need to charge at least $1.00 to process an order in the Online Store.

i want a promo code that will look at buyer and if that buyer buys three products in the same category in the same month the fourth one is free.

is there a fetaure that does this
