Hi @chnydam, you can use Register to track checks and other types of payments. We don't process checks but function as an organizational tool.

When you ring up a sale, tap Charge and then Other Payment Method (or Other) on your smartphone.

@cla - For more details on this process, check out this Support Center article that covers accepting cash, checks, and other tenders. Please keep in mind that when you accept other tender types, Square doesn’t process any funds and functions only as an organizational tool. You'll still need to cash the check with your bank.

We played with this feature at our gig tonight. Enter amount, select charge, scroll down and select 'Other Payment'. This takes you to the next screen showing three options: Check, Gift Card, and Other. Select Check. Done!

you can accept checks and other forms of payments thru square and mark transactions as paid by using "check" or "other payment types" options when you hit the charge button after adding the items to your transaction.

accepting checks in square is just for organizational purposes and you will still need to process the check with your bank for deposit.

Not 100% sure what you are asking.

If you are asking how to document the check payment this article explains how to use cash and check payments. https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5177-accept-cash-checks-and-other-tender

as for depositing a check, you would have to do that in your bank account directly and Square doesn't do anything with depositing checks or cash.

Yes, but square won't deposit the check for you, you will have to do this yourself with a mobile banking app or going to a branch.

In square, when you press charge you should see other options. Cash, Manual Credit Card Entry, Invoice, Check, ect.

Sometimes check is listed under "more" or "other"

You would press this and you can type in the check number is you so please. Then place the check with your cash deposit and next time you are at a bank deposit it.

Will there be a check mobile deposit feature arriving?

If I could deposit checks into my square account, (and cash into an atm) then I wouldn't have a need for the bank account. I could just use my square card as my business charge account. That would save me time by not having to deal with an entire extra institution. Is this coming?

I've gone ahead and merged your post with a thread of other Sellers asking general questions concerning accepting checks, as well as requesting the ability to be able to cash checks directly into Square!

While I can't share detailed information concerning our check acceptance plans, I can confirm that there will be some changes coming to this feature down the road that I think many Sellers will find helpful.
