The website is very hard for me to get around and I don’t own a business I don’t have a tax ID. I only want to have square for personal use throughout the year. Can anybody help please?

Per your post, perhaps Square is not for you. Square is a Credit Card Processing service for businesses (large and small). In order to open an account, there are specific requirements, i.e., Tax ID or EIN, Business Name, Bank Account, etc. Note also, you don't want to get caught up in reporting taxes on any funds you receive even if it's just for personal exchanges. If your intent was simply for personal use as you're not a business and need to exchange funds between friends, there are other online services that are better suited for your needs. Have you looked at PayPal or Vimeo or Zelle. These services are better suited for personal use however, they do charge fees for credit card type transactions - just something you should be aware of. Last, check with your local bank, many banks offer apps or solutions that can be used to exchange funds between parties for personal use. Just my thoughts of course ...
