Skip the Hassle: Set up your Services in Minutes

Hello Health and Beauty Sellers, 👋

We know that getting your services set up can be bit time consuming, and we'd like to help make that process easier for you. By using our pre-built templates, we can help you import some of the most common services used by other folks in the industry, as well as save you the hassle of adding items one at a time. Let us show you how, just follow these steps:

1. Export your Item Library

Visit the Items tab in your online Square Dashboard
Click Export at the top-right.
A CSV spreadsheet will be downloaded to your computer.

2. Modify CSV File (this is the hard part, but we have faith in you!)

Select which sample item library you would like to use and download a copy to your computer by clicking the link below:

Open the sample CSV file.
Open your Exported CSV file.
From the sample CSV file, copy all of the Item Names to the Item Name column (column B) in your Export file.
From the sample CSV file, copy all of the Category Names to the Category column (column D) in your Export file.
Each of your locations will have an “Enabled” column in your Export file. Enter a “Y” in the “Enabled” column for each Store you would like the new item to be visible.
Save a copy of your updated CSV to your desktop so we can access it during the next steps.

3. Import the CSV

Navigate to the Items tab of your Square Dashboard again.
Click Import in the top right hand corner.
You can chose Modify Item Library, unless there are some items you've already created that you'd like remove. In that case, just select Replace Item Library.
Upload the CSV from Step 3 by either dragging and dropping to the pop-up, or by clicking "select if from your computer" and navigating to the file (should be saved on your desktop).
If you get an error message, it should specify where the issue in the spreadsheet is that way you can make a correction and re-import the file.

4. Enjoy your new Service's library! 🎉

Hi, I have setup my services library for my massage/facial menu, but I cannot find them to add to my online shop, infact, I cannot find my online shop on my website, and I just removed the featured items section from the home page... but mainly I need to get my services up on the website as people are able to book online. Any ideas?

lovely video, but it didn't help.

I have access to the services I set up on my website when I am using POS on my phone app.

However the item library on my website does not have access to these services, as in I cannot find the listing/entry at all. I set the services up online, have been into the appointments tab & selected things like 30min added after each appointment... but there is nothing there.

Do you have a next step or shall I call support? It seems a little strange.

Hi Sean, thank you,,, I was following along quite well until, I found a missing link... my services are not in my item library on my dashboard, so when I hit export, my products are on the csv. When I go into my Service Library there is no export option.

This post is a few years old, so the screenshots above are not relevant. It's not currently possible to export your Service Library - only your Item Library is exportable. The ability to export your Service Library is considered a feature request at this time.
