Chip card reader (swipe type) failed, blinks red when try to charge

Is my chip card reader broken? It worked fine last time I used it. This weekend, doesn't work at all. And blinks red, constantly, when I plug in to charge. Help.

Thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear about the trouble with your reader — that shouldn't be happening.🤔

If you haven't had a chance already, please give these troubleshooting tips a run-through: Square Chip Card Reader Tips and Troubleshooting. I realize there are a lot of steps, but those usually resolve any issue right away. If, after that, it's still not working — please let our Support Team know.

Try running Network Diagnostics.
