How do you cancel your account?

I have read multiple places that you can do it from your dashboard, but I don't see where on the dashboard you can do it.

@GeorgiaDNR we're sad to see you go, but understand if Square's not for you.

You can deactivate from the Square dashboard. Go to the Account & Settings page and then scroll down. At the bottom you'll see "Deactivate Account":

There is more information about how to deactivate your account in our Support Center. Let us know if there's anything we can do to keep your business, or if you have any questions!

Regarding deleting your email and password, we aren't able to access and share account-specifics in our online forums. Did you deactivate your own account? Our Customer Success team would have to help you make it active again to get back in there to issue a refund. Then you can deactivate it again.

I never wanted this , thought it was just to see if it worked for my business. But I never used it abd would like a refund. I already have the Square for my phone for over 3 years and never used it.so please refund me.

@Mylove35 Take a look at this thread for instructions on how to deactivate your account.

It also sounds like you may have signed up for some subscriptions if you were charged somewhere along the line. Before you deactivate your account, you'll want to contact our CS team so they can take a look at those charges with you.

I put two accounts under one Square card. One is for my business and the other I was setting up for another business that I oversee, but did NOT want it attached to my account. Hopefully I can deactivate the one I don't want on my personal account and start over (need to purchase their account and didn't realize that as I was easily adding it 😞

If I move to a different POS like Toast and I've unsubscribed to all the Square subscriptions like payroll, loyalty and marketing, do I need to also deactivate my account? Is there anything that square will charge me for if I just keep my account open just in case I decide to use it for something else like invoicing or random payments?

I have tried to follow ALL instructions to close and get refund for an account I opened YESTERDAY and cannot close my account as It says it will.
