How to delete/hide Square default categories, e.g., gift cards, discount, etc?

We are a small coop and do not use gift cards, discounts, etc. We only use our categories. If Square default categories cannot be deleted, then how can I hide them so that we see only our own categories when we do a sale?

Hey @TMG, thanks for bringing this up!

You can delete a category by doing the following:

Tap the three horizontal lines in the navigation bar
Tap Items > Categories
Select the category you would like to delete > Edit Category
Scroll down > Delete Category
Tap Save when you’re finished

No, your reply doesn't answer the question. On the Sq terminal, the new "updated format" lists Gift cards, then rewards, discounts, service charges, items. Below this it lists categories. Below this, it lists the items. We sell by items so we don't want to see the gifts cards, etc at the top of the screen. We also don't want to see Categories on the main screen. Is there a way to remove them from the Checkout screen without deleting them?

This would be considered a feature request at this time, @LEWroxy

In the meantime, you are able to revert to our previous experience by visiting More > Settings > Checkout and Revert to previous Experience, this my help while we continue making our new experience more customizable.

I would also appreciate a way to suppress the default categories, such as Gift Cards. They are NOT something I will use in my business, so they just clutter up the interface. When will this feature be available?

I would also love the ability to hide "Gift cards", "Rewards", "Discounts" etc. We have about 15 Terminals and don't use those features at all, it would be great if our team members could quickly access items in the library without having to scroll past these categories.

You keep saying you are going to get rid of redundant groups like Gift cards and rewards, but when?? They are truly annoying appearing at the top when they are NOT used.
