I'm trying to transfer my domain to back to etsy since the fees are cheaper. I've unlocked my domain and received my auth code. I've updated my dns records at etsy. I was trying to point my domain to etsy by modifying square dns records but when I try to add or delete to dns, nothing happens. I've tried using the so called "help" center. Should be called "self help center" and the chat bot wasn't helpful. I need actually advice or directions to transfer the domain. The current advice needs to be updated since the domain page has change. There is not a place that says check your domain status.

Hi @isisandluna. I’m confused. If you are changing your domain registrar from Square to Etsy, Square’s only responsibility here is to give you an unlock code so that Etsy can initiate the transfer. It sounds like you have this code. Any domain transfers I’ve ever done were handled 100% by the company I was transferring to, once I had an auth code.

Otherwise, you do not use Square tools to change DNS for a domain you are transferring to someone else. Like I said, Square’s tools would only be used to receive an auth code.

As for help and advice and steps on transferring your website to another registrar, you’ll have to consult their help/support for these, not Square’s. That company will give you all of the steps and advice you need, since you will be their customer now.

Best,
