Can team members clock in and out on the register or does it have to be through an app?

You can set it up both ways!

For Register Clockin:

On your register, More->Settings -> Team Management. Enable "Track Team Member Time".

Now, on your main login screen, you'll see Clock In/Out in the upper right corner. If you're not using PIN logins, the employee just needs to tap the clock icon in the lower right of the screen.

For App Clockin:

On your dashboard, Shifts -> Settings -> Clock In/Out

Enable "Clock In/Out from Team App"

Do note that there is no geofencing on the app: employees can clock in and out wherever they happen to be. I know that's something the dev teams are looking into but not sure where it is in the queue.
