I bought a chip reader and a lightning adapter. The the chip reader doesn't fit the adapter. Only the older type does.

That is correct The Lightning adapter is only for the Square Reader, Not the Chip Reader.

Hi @JoeyMedinaComic - thanks for flagging this.

The product description for the Lightning Adapter does state that it is intended for the Magstripe reader. You can return the adapter (in fact, I would recommend returning both and purchasing the Contactless + Chip Card reader as it sounds like a better fit for you).

I'll also share your feedback with our Product Team so we can look into ways to make the description for the adapter more clear. 👍
