Using someone else's Square

I use Square for my t-shirt business. This weekend, I am helping the Boy Scouts sell popcorn and am using the Troop's Square. I have the Troop's login information and all that. Do I have to do anything special on my iPhone? Or is their account information encoded in the Square device itself?

You just log into the Square Point of sale app with the Troop login information. The reader has nothing to do with the account and can be used by anyone with a square account.

I’m unable to work right now, so my son has asked if he can use my Square Chip Reader. As long as he downloads and sets up his own square account, can I loan it out to him?

Hi @KarenCarver,

I moved your post to one of the existing threads with the same question.

To add- readers are universal and not connected to a specific account. However with the Contactless reader you'll want to make sure you unpair it with your device first because it won't connect to his if it's still paired with yours. It can only be paired with one device at a time.
