Thank you, @Ferninthewild!

When you have multiple locations enabled, your gift cards can be issued and redeemed at any of the locations associated with your Square account.

I hope that helps!

Retail / Restaurant under one account but separate locations a solution to inventory issue?

I created another square account to eliminate an inventory issue we had when we onboarded the restaurant POS system to our account. We had a retail shop and small cafe that we closed to remodel but these were the issues we knew we would need to fix before reopening. I wish to not use another account if possible for the ONLY REASON THAT GIFT CARDS CANNOT BE USED ON BOTH SIDES. silly I know... I am wondering if we kept the account as one but created different locations instead?

Hey @Ferninthewild,

Thanks for reaching out; that's a great question.

You can sign up for Square for Retail on one location and Square for Restaurants on another location, all under the same account. You will just need to generate device codes for each service.

Here's an article on how to manage your device codes.

Please let me know if we can assist you with anything else.

That’s an amazing response! Do you know if gift cards will also work between locations?

a support team update - I logged on to start the process and I noticed the retail plus subscription had increased to $120/monthly to account to a second location. I thought it would be better to call support and have them walk me through the allocation of subscriptions, etc. I was notified that if you pay for retail plus, any locations will be automatically charged the $60/monthly. I thought I could live with the extra cost of the retail charge IF I could at least add the restaurant to one location and move on but once I was transferred over to the restaurant side, I was told that the restaurant side was the same way and that it must have changed recently. I am super bummed. it feels like a money grab. I know this program can be successful for all. I think they should offer custom pricing for businesses like ours to thrive.
