How to Track/Filter/Count transactions towards a minimum purchase?

Can someone help me figure out how to do this in Square POS or Retail or Restaurants?

We allow guests to book special rooms as long as they meet a minimum purchase for the reservation. We allow groups of people to apply their individual purchases to meet the minimum. To track this we give the guests a colored wristband and then create a $0 item called "blue wristband" and this item gets added to each sale for people at the event. After the event is over we can download the transactions for the day and filter all the transactions for those that include the "blue wristband" item. This works, but it is cumbersome and can only be done the following day. The group often wants to know on the night of service how close they are to their minimum, etc.

Is there some other way we could set this up in order to track it and be able to tell right from the POS how close they are to their minimum?

At this time tracking credits or customer usage is not possible in Square. I recommend you submit a Feature Request here. This will help our product team get visibility and track other Sellers' interest in your request.
