I inadvertently gave square access to my photo gallery. How do I disable access?

to use Square POS you must enable Square access to Microphone, GPS, and Camera. If you disable these accesses then the program will not function.

The reason Square Register needs access to your microphone is to "listen" to the Square Mag Stripe Reader plugged into your headphone jack. without that, the app can not communicate with the reader. The location/GPS is because Square is a mobile payment solution so it is able to use your location to print on the emailed and texted receipts where the transaction took place and to mitigate fraud and prove you are in the country where you have permission to accept Credit Card payments. The camera is needed so that you can upload images for your items, or a profile picture etc.

Does the APP need access to my contacts & photos? It asks for access to contacts and my photos.

Square Mag Stripe Reader will be discontinue to use from October, 2022.

But I am using Square Reader not using Mag strip, why it still needs me to enable the microphone ?

Great question @laurales. First I wanted to provide some clarification regarding the End of Life for the Square Magstripe reader in Canada. At this time this reader is only being discontinued from being sold. However, the reader will still be supported by the Square Point of Sale app. Also, the reader is still being sold in the United States.

Because of this our application will still require this permission present.
