Can Star 100 series receipt printer hook to an Android device w/o Stand?

I'm unclear as to whether the Square Stand is neccessary to simply hook a Star 100 series printer to an Adroid device. The online Store requires you to check a box stating that the printer will be installed on the Stand, but a support Q&A states you can plug it in using the USB OTG cable with no mention of the Stand. I have a tablet and phone and really don't need another screen, cash drawer, etc. Just the printer for receipts.

Sorry for the confusion around this. We can do a better job at being more clear on what you'd need to make this work.

The Square Stand is only compatible with an iPad, so it wouldn't work with an Android device at all.

To use a supported USB printer with your Android device, you'll need a USB to USB micro adapter and a device that supports USB On-The-Go (OTG) or Host mode. Bluetooth printers aren’t supported with Android devices at this time.

To answer your original question, yes! you can use Star 100 series USB receipt printers with an android device.
