&lt;P&gt;There's currently not a way through Square Inventory to account for theft or damaged items and count those items as a loss.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;The workaround that you mentioned is actually the best solution that I can think of, as a few other sellers that I've spoken to were using the same method for this.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Loss and Stolen Items</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;anyone out there have advice on how to manage Inventory to identify loss or stolen merchandise.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I would like Square reporting to show me how many items total I have ordered by Category and Item and total sales in one report.&amp;nbsp; I dont trust the&amp;nbsp; Current Quantity that is shown in the items library, since I cant see the total we started with.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;So I am currently taking the total I have ordered minus the total I have sold (by item) that gives me what I expect to have on hand. then I do a manual count - the difference gives me my lost or stolen items.&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
