You can definitely use the same printer to do what you're looking for by turning on the Order Tickets feature.

It appears you can use the same printer unless it is an impact printer. I would like to know why that is? Surely the text on an order ticket is no different than a receipt? Text is text. I bought the kitchen printer (SP742MU) for my laundry for order tickets that will be hung on the dryers to follow the dry/fold orders, ie, exposed to heat. I am disappointed to now find that it won't print a simple receipt.

Can't this be fixed with an update to Square software? Can we make a feature request?

Sorry for the disappointment @candoappliances. I can definitely pass along the feedback to our Product team about adding this printer to our compatibility list. Can't make any promises, but happy to move this up the chain.
