Hi @UpTo11Tech

This is a great question, as many sellers often look for a workaround for this.

There isn't a way to add an hourly or variable priced item to an invoice, as you're required to enter an exact amount for you customer to pay before the invoice is created and sent.

The workaround that you mentioned would work if you're charging your customer in person and not through an invoice.

If you're charging someone in person after the work has already been finished, you can create and use the variably priced item and enter the amount to charge according to the hours worked.

If you create this item, it will show in your Item Library.

Hello, I'm fairly new to using Square, and while my business does have some tangible material goods for sale, I primarily offer consulting and contract custom software services. Is there a way to add line items to an invoice with an hourly bill rate? If I just create an "item" in my store with the cost being the hourly rate, and bill for X number of hours by "selling" X number of those items, can I prevent that item from not showing up in my Square Up store?

I'm sorry if this is a newbie question, but I couldn't find any similar questions through the search functionality.

Thank you in advance for any guidance.
