Does Square Retail Average the COGS of one item over time?

I purchase the same items at different prices over time. When I receive an item in Square Retail, can I add a new cost each time, and then will Square average the cost for me? Or does it override the price of current inventory each time I change the receiving cost?

Hey @Bampdx - Square for Retail will calculate COGS using the first in, first out rule. So if an item had 5 units at $5 in stock and then you added 5 more at $6, you would sell 5 at $5 and 5 at $6 but not 10 at $5.50. You can add a different unit cost each time and it well sell the number of units entered at that cost as you move through your stock.
