Does removing items from inventory affect historical sales data?

I have items in my inventory which we will not use again but I'm hesitant to remove because I'm unsure how this will affect historical sales data. Need reassurance that this will not affect historical information.

NO, Any changes to inventory, categories, tax, etc. don't effect sales history. Nothing effects sales history except a return. I run a fireworks stand and delete the inventory every year and still have all my history.
