Accidental deposit

I entered an amount on my square reader but did not swipe any card and it shows as collected. 2 minutes later I swiped a card to collect the same amount and it showed up as collected from a discover card. I am worried about the first transaction which I didnt swipe any card or enter any card number. What should I do about the first transaction that is showing up as collected to my e-mail address.

Hello @gooseneck61 I think I have an idea of what happened.

It sounds like the first transaction was probably processed as cash by accident. You can check by heading to your Transaction Report. If you click on the sale it will tell you how it was processed. Or if you see a small rectangle with a circle and four lines in each corner this is the symbol for a cash transaction on Square.

Yes I see the rectangle with 4 lines and a circle. I clicked on it and it does say cash. Is there anything I should worry about. I refunded the transaction.

@gooseneck61 you're all set! No funds are transferred on cash sales and you've already refunded the transaction so you should be set now. 🙂
