View list of items that show up "Uncatergorized"

When pulling a report of items sold bu catergory I am seeing that I have some listed at "uncatergorized" and I need to put those items in a catergory. This is seriously a basic POS need and yet it appears that with Square for Retail I can pull a list of all catergories but not a list of those that haven't been put into a specific catergory. Is there a way to do this or are these items forever going to be without a proper home?

easiest I have found is to export your item list and sort by category.

you can either fix it here and reimport it or go back to SquarePOS and update there.

We experience the same issue because we have multiple employees entering new items and invariably some accidentally don't get assigned a category. You won't know this until an item is sold and then shows up as 'Uncategorized'.

We have tens of thousands of items in Square, so exporting the entire list and sorting it to find ones not assigned a category seems beyond backwards since the Square app knows and reports on items that lack a category. This should be a simple addition in Square for the "Items" list to essentially have an option to filter on items that have a category of null since more than likely your items are stored on a DB table and filtering on null values is SQL 101. This should be an easy product roadmap addition....
