How do I add funds to my Square checking account? Do I add the banking information like I did with the current account on file? Is the transfer instant? Is there a fee?

@Porcupine You have to connect a debit card to your Square Balance in order to add funds. To do that, from your dashboard go to Balance -> Touch on the Location you want to change -> Click on the gear icon in the upper right corner -> Select Transfer settings.

In the middle is a section called “Add Money.” You’ll need to connect your debit card here. After that and the normal Square Magic, it should be fine.

Does this same process work if I am adding the Square debit card (don't have physical card yet). I want to add the funds to the Square debit card once an invoice is paid.

The Square debit card is already tied to your Square checking account/balance. In order for you to add money from another bank account to your Square balance, you must have a debit card associated with that your account at that bank. The debit card is used to make the transfer from your bank, rather than going through ACH which would cost more money than it’s worth.

The Square debit card would not work, because it is not a debit card for your regular bank account. It is the debit card for your Square account, only.

Has anyone been denied a debit card with Square Checking? I was waiting on my EIN number in the mail, so i used my SS in place of it, was denied. Called today when i got my EIN number, and they said once its denied, they cant edit the info. So i made a whole new account, tried with the EIN number and i was still denied. Is there a specific amount of time one should wait for the EIN number to be in the system for them to be able to use to verify? Possibly thats the issue? HELP!
