Hello, I have set up E-Gift Cards and I am using a Woo Commerce Website. Our customers would have to redeem their gift cards in person or over the phone and I would like to add a disclaimer or something that let our customers know how to redeem. Is this possible?

Hello @ChefRas, welcome to the Seller Community!

That's a great question and the answer is yes! On your Square Dashboard head to your Gift Card tab. Once you're on this tab head to Settings. From here you can create an additional policy that states eGift Cards can only be redeemed in store or over the phone. This will be displayed to the recipient when they receive the eGift Card. Check out the image below for reference.

Also eGift cards can't be used on E-commerce partner sites, so they wouldn't be able to use them on your WooCommerce site if they tried. 🙂

How do I use the egift redemption code on an in-store purchase. We use Square for our online store and to sell egift cards however a customer used it in our brick and mortar store. We have the 16 digit code but do we clear it? If we clear it, are the funds transferred to our bank. She used the full amount so I can clear it but I want to make sure that we receive payment.

@VW925

You redeem eGift cards by linking the customer to the sale via the Add Customer option at the top of the screen. When you go to the payment screen, choose the "Card on File" option for tender type then choose the eGift card from the list.

As for the payments, you are paid when the eGift card (and physical cards too) is purchased. The purchase amount is transferred to your account but your sales for the day is not affected. At time of redemption, it adds to your sales for the day but no money is transferred.
