can I use point of sale app on desktop

I'm not looking to take payments from my desktop I just want to be able to add / manage items Is there a way to do this from my desktop (which would be so much easier than my iphone/ipad)

Have you checked out your online Square Dashboard? This your one-stop shop for your account where you can manage your items, look up transactions, run reports, etc. For more information, check out Square Dashboard Overview.

I think I tried that but when I looked on the app the item was not there in the image menu (the rows and colums with the pix that you click) I am brand new so I might just be confused. (extremely confused lol)

Gotcha. To clarify, your online Square Dashboard is to be accessed from a computer in order to show the functions that you are looking for.

Meaning... whatever items I set up on the dashboard should populate into the ipad app correct?

Yes, your online Dashboard syncs with the Point of Sale app. You can learn more at Create and Manage Items Online.
