Equipment Rental business looking to manage reservations through square integrated app

Hello there. I own an equipment rental company and we are growing big enough that I no longer want to manage the rental schedule manually.

Is there a square integrated app that I could manage rental reservations items and schedule through? I would need to be able to block out the day into 2, 4 and 8 hour rentals for 15-20 different rental items.

If anyone has experience with this using square please let me know. Any insight is appreciated.

Hi @HCAdvRentals

I was able to speak to our Appointments team and they let me know that resource rentals is definitely a feature request we've been looking into for our Appointments app.

They recommended checking out our integration with Bookeo to see if that would work for what you're trying to accomplish until we can get something rolled out to help with this directly.

Hello,

I am wondering if there is a way for me to use Square to manage a medical equipment rental business. I would like to be able to use it for invoicing, inventory tracking and retail store point of sale.

Is there a way to do this?

This would be great to not have to pay for another service to integrate into here as well as upload my inventory to another site. Any chance Square is working on a solution or will only continue to push other apps to integrate?

It’s possible, with limitations on duration.

I’ve been attempting to manipulate the software to fit this need… The best and easiest thing to do is create a pseudo staff account for each rental item. I rent boats, and have a “Team” with a job description of “Boats”. I set my business hours for pickup and delivery, and then modify the boats availability in staff calendars to accommodate 24 hour rentals. you will need to assign the staff (the boats) to each corresponding service/rental item.

In the services list, when creating a new boat to rent out, I will add 4 “Variations” (2 Hour, 4 Hour, 8 Hour and 24 Hour) This will ensure that items (I.e. staff) are not double booked.

It would be incredibly beneficial to square to allow resource appointments in the workflow. Rental businesses have high income and need simplification in their business model. If your on the square team, please feel free to reach out for a business case and ways to integrate a more permanent solution with the current product and a few strategic tweaks. Lots of money to be made on this functionality!!!!

Hi,

We're 90% equipment rentals with sub-categorized items within the main rentals, and 10% labor with hour-based pay-roll. We were hoping you guys had a better system setup we could migrate our business to, so we can operate rentals more smoothly instead of invoicing each item and having to use quantity for days of rental, etc.

Hi, is there still no functionality available within Square to facilitate item hire? It's a huge industry and something I am trying to integrate in my website through appointments. I have tried using the above method of creating a "staff" member for each item but they require an email address each and the cost is adding up.

Please consider actioning this, the people have been requesting it since 2018!!
