What hardware do I need to purchase for a retail shop?

I am opening a new retail brick and mortar in a couple of weeks. We used to operate as a pop-up shop using the iPad and contactless/chip reader. I’m trying to figure out what hardware to purchase. I saw the new Square Terminal, but is it just a terminal — or do I have the same functionality as with my iPad? I also need a cash drawer, but how does that work with the terminal? Trying to make sense of all the options and how they all work together. Help!

The new Square terminal is more like using a phone not an iPad as the interface is different. there is no grid layout with pages of items to click.
