Is it possible to set up an automatic tipping system where people are able to just tap and go without having into punching in anything?

I frequently busk/street perform and more and more people are moving toward having only a card with them

Currently, there is not a way with Square to do a tap and auto tip. I know there are some apps that do that. I would say give Google a quick search and you should find something that will work.
