    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi &lt;a href="https://community.squareup.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/140171"&gt;@drminshewshurr&lt;/a&gt;, the short answer is no you don't have to use the Appointments app to checkout clients. You can use the Calendar to manage your schedule and then accept&amp;nbsp;card payments with the Point of Sale app.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;However, with the &lt;U&gt;Appointments&lt;/U&gt; app when you select&lt;STRONG&gt; Review and Checkout &lt;/STRONG&gt;you can add the &lt;EM&gt;same&lt;/EM&gt; service to the sale if that would help,&amp;nbsp;or&amp;nbsp;tap &lt;STRONG&gt;Add Item or Discount&lt;/STRONG&gt; to add additional items to the sale.&amp;nbsp;(You could create an item with the same names as your services.)&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I also&amp;nbsp;noticed that in another post you asked &lt;U&gt;how to create an item variation&lt;/U&gt;. To get started, open the &lt;STRONG&gt;Appointments&lt;/STRONG&gt; app:&lt;/P&gt;

 &lt;LI&gt;Tap the three horizontal lines in the upper left &amp;gt; tap &lt;STRONG&gt;Items &lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;gt; &lt;STRONG&gt;All Items&lt;STRONG&gt;.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap on an existing item &amp;gt; tap &lt;STRONG&gt;Add New Price, Size, or SUK&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Enter a name for the variation/price&amp;nbsp;(if you don't enter a price you'll be prompted to enter one at checkout.)&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap the back arrow in the upper left.&lt;/LI&gt;
 &lt;LI&gt;Tap &lt;STRONG&gt;Save&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;

      <title>Do appointments HAVE TO be checkout from each appointment?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;My&amp;nbsp;issue is that if i want to check out my patients from their appointments on my calendar, once i click "review and check out" and im checking out the appointment it doesn't allow me to change the quantity of the SERVICE, only ITEMS, which is an issue because technically it is a service and that is what they're booking from my website (I would keep it as an item but items don't show on my sqaure website).&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I think an alternative to that issue could be fixed this as the following: (but i need to make sure this works)&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&lt;SPAN&gt;do the balances from the calender from each appointment remain as "unpaid" if i dont directly "check out" each appointment, or can i go directly to "checkout"(POS) and start a fresh invoice on the patient I just saw whom I had the appointment scheduled on the calender with?&lt;/SPAN&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;How can you show that a client is checked out after they pay an invoice?&amp;nbsp; On the calendar, they are still showing as unpaid when in fact they paid by invoice.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Welcome to the Community, &lt;a href="https://community.squareup.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/430143"&gt;@wholebodyhealth&lt;/a&gt; -&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;Right now, Appointments and Invoices operate separately.&amp;nbsp;&lt;BR /&gt; &lt;BR /&gt; There is an option to "record another payment", but you will run the risk of the reports looking like there was a double payment.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&lt;BR /&gt; This is an excellent Feature Request for our Product Team and I am happy to get it over to them.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt; 
&lt;P&gt;Thank you for bringing this up in the Community.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
