If I'm giving one of my employees a pay raise, beginning the next pay period, do I need to make the change on the effective date (first day of pay period) or does Square not look at the Pay Rate until I run payroll at the end of the pay period?

She said: "If you edit an employee's pay rate in Square Payroll, your employee will be paid that rate for the following pay run. That includes all hours in that run.

If you have any questions about running Payroll call our CS team and you'll be able to chat to a Payroll Specialist."

So I think you can make the change now, and it will automatically start the next pay period.
