Yes. I printed a test report from my tablet just to verify it worked. I'm assuming it won't be any different on the Register.

I was thinking of purchasing the Square Register for my bar business. Before I do, I have an important question about printing reports from a thermal receipt printer. Every day I have two bartenders, one opens at 11am, and the other comes in at 6pm at shift change. I was wondering if the Square register will allow me to print out a report for the morning bartender (11 -6) and the night bartender (6 - 2am) on a receipt printer. Is there a way to designate a time? Finally, is there an example of what a report on a receipt would look like?

Thank you all.

I'm not using the Square Register currently (only the Point of Sale) but I believe the user interface is pretty much identical.

Yes, you can print individual employees sales from the Register. When you're in the Reports->Sales screen, look for the three bars with the dots in them. On the PoS, it's on the top left of the Sales screen. Tapping that allows you to customize the report.

This report allows you to choose specific employees (note to Square: if the employee chooser here would only show employees with active sales during the time period it would save time!!) and specific time periods. Once done with the customize screen, your report will be shown on screen. Tapping the printer icon (upper right on PoS) prints a report for you.

That report has the following sections: Sales Summary, Discounts, Category Sales, and Item Sales.

Also: I know you're wanting to use the reporting from the receipt printer, but so you know you can also set up custom reports from the Dashboard that will show you all the same information with only two clicks instead of multiple taps. If this is something you'd be interested in further down the road, check out Square's Custom Reports help page.
