If square no longer accepts swipe gift cards why is it still suggesting them to merchants?

I've been fighting with getting the system to accept our branded gift cards since upgrading the stand and I've now been told that square stand is no longer compatible with swipe cards. First, why is square still suggesting these cards to it's merchants? And second, what am I supposed to do with these, not inexpensive, cards?

@BadPenny Somebody seems to have given you bad information, I’m sorry to say. The new Square Stands will accept swipe cards and swipe gift cards. Here’s a link to the Help Article for the new Stand, and I’ve included a screen shot of the section showing you how to insert a swipe card reader into your stand.
