you will not be able to use your Square account nor your Square account if you travel outside the country where you made the Square account. This is due to contracts with the credit card companies.

Can I use my existing square account that is attached to my US bank account with a VPN in Costa Rica for just one day?

Thanks for posting in the Seller Community.

@VanKalkerFarms is correct here. As a US registered Square seller, it would not be supported to take payments outside of the country you signed up with Square in.
