How do I run a report that shows what a customer has spent year to date?

Does anyone know how to run a report that shows what a customer has spent year to date? I need it by customer specifically.

You can see total sales in the customer profile in your dashboard. However, if you want it for a specific time from there is no report for that on a customer level. You would have to export your transaction data for the year then sort by the customer and then get your totals with formula or just highlighting the column of data and looking at the total at the bottom of the spreadsheet window.
