I am trying to import an inventory list from an excel speadsheet. Ive even tried creating a new excel with matching headers and that did not work either.

Do you have a template I can use?

The easiest way to create a template that Square would accept on upload would be to export your current item library, Save As the file, and work on it.

I haven't tried it with an empty item library, so I don't know if you can export an empty library. If not, you could always create one item as a temporary item and then export.

How can I capture product info from a sku to upload into square?

For example: how can I scan the barcode on a package of paper towels and capture the info (product description, SKU, etc) to an excel sheet to upload into square?

Glad to see you joined the Community!

The Point of Sale system cannot recognize those item details. Enter that info onto an Excel spread sheet manually using our Item Library template, then import the file into Dashboard.
