Square Terminal connection

I am looking to purchase the Square terminal. However, there are some events that do not have WiFi. My question would be, Can I use my cell phone as a WiFi connector to connect the square terminal so that I can use it at shows that do not offer WiFi?

Yes! As long as your phone can be a hotspot, the terminal can connect to your phone and use its wifi for processing.

Square doesn't pull a lot of data when making transactions, but be aware of your data usage. My cell provider is quite extreme with data overage charges when on a hotspot.....

I actually don't have the Terminal myself, just the iPad Point of Sale.

That said, if I expand my operations into more offsite events, I'm definitely looking at picking one of the Terminals up.

My only concern with the Terminals is the lack of the grid setup you see in Point of Sale. The Terminal acts more like the phone app with just a list of items. It's workable, but I've been spoiled by the grid. 🙂
