Client paid with a pre-paid Visa card, wants refund, I need to give her cash

Client paid at my store with a pre-paid Visa card that she bought at a retailed. She used the entire amount on the card, so we discarded the prepaid card. Now she needs a refund. I want to give her cash. If I try to put the refund back on the card, it's useless because that card got thrown away. I'm not seeing an option to refund her cash instead of putting this money back on the card. Thx

there isn't an option to refund a credit card to cash as that isn't something you should do to prevent fraud.

you can refund to a gift card or e gift card if you want to make them buy something from you or you can give cash back but there isn't a way to show that in Square so it would have to be a note for your accountant to note in case of an audit.
