Currently, Loyalty points are awarded based on pre-tax and pre-tip amounts. This is a feature request, but we can pass this feedback along to our Loyalty Product Team. 👍

Include Tax in Loyalty Points?

I have my Loyalty Program set to award one point per Dollar spent. Problem is, my tax is included in my price, so when a customer pays $7 for a pizza, the program wants to award only 6 points, because the "before tax" price is only $6.88 or so.

Is there any way to award points by "rounding up" to the next whole Dollar?

Or can I somehow award points including the tax?

I don't see anything in the settings that seems to allow me to do that.

Hi @FirebrickBread.

There isn't a way to round up points to the next whole dollar. That's currently a feature request. If you want your customers to benefit from that additional point, you can always manually add the point to their loyalty profile.

I figured out a workaround: I award one point per pre-tax dollar spent. My taxes come to about 8 cents on the dollar, so they earn a point for each 92 cents spent. That seems to work for now.
