How to add notes to 0.00 custom items on iPad

On mobile, I am able to add notes to items with 0.00 custom cost. I use this to help with sorting in a way the ticket notes don't help. Problem is, on iPad the note funtion doesn't show up until I add an item with at least 0.01. Any chance of this getting updated, or is there a work around?

You may need to add a transaction and use a custom discount to make a $0.00 value sale, that way the POS knows to track something coming through it.

If you were to create a 100% discount to zero out the sale, it should allow you to record the note and not show an amount due.

A second option would be to use a specific tender to record "payment," like "other payment method" so you know it's not actually a transactional sale.
