sorry to sound dumb but I can't figure it out. I have an item that I have in my list so I went to stock and said receive stock. it ask me what the unit price was.

example.......

candy bar- my list price is .85 cents for one. i put received 72 and it asked what the unit price was. i paid 58.00 for the box of candy and plan on selling it .85 cents. i originally put 58.00 for the unit price and when I went to history it said i should have 62.00 dollars. I was like that isn't right. so what do i put in the unit price? the price i plan on selling the chocolate or what I paid for it?

The unit cost of items is the total paid for the items divided by the number of items you received. In your example, your unit cost is: $58.00/72 =$0.81 (rounded from $0.805555....) You'd only be making 4 cents per bar at your intended price point.
